A Different Kind of March Madness

Dear Universe,

Typically, I dread March.  Anyone who knows me well knows it.  If I’m having an off day, I’ll usually get that sympathetic look and the reassurance that it’s just March rearing it’s blah on me.  I think it’s because, to me anyway, it feels the month drags on in molasses like slow motion for all 31 days with its clinging-onto-winter-hesitant-to-leap-into-spring mode, but I have to admit: this March hasn’t been all that bad.

Yes, I said it.

(How I usually feel about March.)

Could it be that I am starting to love March?  Well, I wouldn’t go that far.  It still had a few low, typical March moments.

But overall, it was a good month.  I think it’s because it’s been more sunny than gray, more mild than cold and more relaxed than not.  The unexpected heat wave we had last week only added to this joy.  Short sleeves on, windows down and open-toed shoes out of the closet?  All a first in New England.  Sign me up.  I’m putting it out there—let every March be this way!

Even the fact that it’s now back to cold temperatures and numbing wind hasn’t bogged me down.  I haven’t complained once and neither has anyone around me.

(Feeling much more carefree and light this March.)

So thank you, March.  For finally being a tolerable month.  And yes, I’m still looking forward to April—this weekend!  After all, the trees haven’t even bloomed yet.

Much Gratitude,

A
