The Animal in Me

Angie Guides, Insight, Spirit Animals 4 Comments

Dear Universe,

Now I’m not really an animal lover.  It’s not that I’m an animal hater either, but I guess I’m more neutral.  Being highly allergic to most animals will do that to a person.

Nevertheless, when I saw a quiz online that would discover what spirit animal I am, I was curious enough to do it.  It’s only fifteen multiple choice questions—so not a big commitment.

Some cultures believe spirit animals act as guides, offering protection over people.

The site has a disclaimer making it clear that the quiz is for entertainment purposes only.  I laughed when I saw that.  Of course this is just for fun!  That’s why I was so surprised when I saw the results.  It was pretty accurate.

The site matched me with the top twelve animals I was most compatible with.  Kind of like a dating site.  It even tells you what other “animals” would be good matches for you.

Here are tidbits from my Top 4—well, 3.  Wolf and Hawk were tied:

1.  Owl:  “Human lie-detectors:  Owls are keen, perceptive and skeptical.  You’re adept at getting to the truth, making you an ideal investigator or attorney.”  Yeah, I’d agree with that.  And now I think it’s odd that I have two owls on display in my bedroom.

2.  Wolf:  “Enhanced senses of smell and hearing: ‘Family comes first’ could be a Wolf’s motto.  You form deep connections with close friends and family members, and they know you’d do anything to protect them.  You’re loyal, devoted and passionate.”  Very true.

Hawk:  “Communicate with the divine:  Hawks are the messengers of the Spirits.  Adept with language, you might be a writer or a teacher.”  Writer?  Teacher?  Check!  Check!

3.  Swan:  “Foretelling future through dreams:  Swans are idealistic, open-minded, and passionate.  Your love is fierce and unconditional, fueled by the certainty that it should last forever.”  All true.

The good news?  Cougar came in way down on the list.  I’m glad.  If this quiz had told me I was a 100% cougar I think I may have cried.

Thanks for the insight and the laugh.

With Gratitude,

A
