Dear Universe,

I love Valentine’s Day.  I love sending cards and giving treats to loved ones, especially as a surprise.  I love letting them know how special they are to me.

Yesterday I found out that this week is Random Acts of Kindness Week.

“The humblest tasks get beautified if loving hands do them.” ~Louisa May Alcott

I can’t think of anything more fitting to do on this St. Valentine’s than to pass on a surprise moment of niceness.  Sometimes it’s not the ones closest to us that need an extra bit of love or a whole lot of kindness, but rather the people we pass every day or the stranger that is struggling.

The best part of a random act of kindness is that it doesn’t need to be elaborate or even plotted out ahead of time.  All you need to do is be open to the opportunity.

But if you do want ideas?  Check out their the organization’s site—yes there is an organization!

People share their stories, inspire others and offer ideas for those of us who need a little help.  Probably my favorite part is all the children who are involved in this movement—year round.  I love the idea of children growing up with this ingrained in them as habit.

Here’s to a love-filled day whoever you are, wherever you are.  Don’t forget to spread a little extra joy and maybe an act of kindness along your way today.

And you never know.  It might just come back to you when you least expect it.  Karma works for the good stuff too!

Much Gratitude,

A
