When I first got to London, I really had no set plan except to go see “Taming of the Shrew” and to hopefully catch some of the Olympic hype. Other than that, I was free to do whatever—relax, explore, shop, meet up with people. Whatever I felt like.
That kind of freedom and free time can sometimes turn into a bad thing for me. It’s easy to just settle in and not be motivated to do much.
With each day that passed though, I felt like I was gaining more momentum. I kept thinking of new things to do, places to see. The sun shining brightly the last few days only invigorated me more. I really wore myself out—in a good way—making the most of my last days in London. I have the blistered feet to prove it. 🙂
Tower Bridge at night. Just look at the picture. Enough said.
Reuniting with Big Ben…again.
Discovering Covent Garden. Love that area!
Checking out Camden Market. A new spot for me and what a scene! More Keep Calimisms! Loved “Keep Calm and Call Batman” and a Yoda version, “Calm You Shall Keep and Carry on You Must. Yes, Hmm.” And a Back to the Future t-shirt! (Another full circle moment!) A spur of the moment tarot reading! With the amount of people bustling around I almost felt like I was in Times Square.
Spending my last night drinking Pimms (A first! And won’t be a last!) on a rooftop bar overlooking the city. The best part about this spot? It also has mini-golf! Pretty cool place and a nice way to end the trip.
Thank you for the safe journeys. I remember questioning if I should go and telling myself to just do it—that I never regret traveling.
I was right. The trip was filled with many moving moments, laughs, cries—mostly of the good kind! Most of all it was refreshing and enlightening in unexpected ways. I like to think that anytime I take a trip it teaches me something new, shifts me in some way.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity and grateful I went. I won’t forget it.
Much Gratitude,
A
