“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” ~Roald Dahl
Dear Universe,
Halfway through March, already? I wish I could say I have made progress these last couple of weeks, that I have gotten into a productive routine, but I’m still not back where I’d like to be.
Well, maybe there is one nugget of progress? About a week ago, I started reading The Magic. I received it unexpectedly as a gift and was instantly thrilled since I was planning on getting it at some point soon. It’s the third book written by Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret. (Hmm, maybe I used law of attraction to send the book my way!) Anyway, I started reading The Magic on a quiet afternoon hoping to discover what the “magic” is and thinking I could breeze through it in one sitting.
Several pages in though, I realized Rhonda had other plans for me. You see, it’s meant to be read day-by-day for twenty-eight consecutive days. Each morning (or sometimes the night before) the reader is given specific instructions on practicing gratitude. I had no idea the book would be like this, but I’m glad it is about ways to feel and show gratitude since that’s something I try to focus on daily.
And so far I am keeping up with it. I have the book right next to my bed so it’s the first thing I see in the morning. No matter how busy of a day I have ahead of me, I take the time to read the designated intention. I may not always do exactly as I’m told, but I do take something from it and am more mindful of the topic as I move through my day.
I don’t know if I’m feeling the “magic” yet, but I still have a many more days to go. My plan is to stick it out to see and feel what happens.
Thanks for sending some magic my way. I have a feeling nothing but positive things can come from this.
With Gratitude,
A
